Fishing Competitions

Fishing is in the DNA of the Albert Park Yachting and Angling Club.

The APYAC fishing season runs from early September to end of May each year and comprises many events listed below. The exact dates for commencement and ending of the APYAC fishing season will be communicated by the Angling Committee each year.

Competitions are open to all APYAC members and their children or grandchildren:

The APYAC fishing season concludes with a presentation night held at the Club.

* – Points can go towards Annual Competition where eligible in accordance with the rules.

1 – The Captain and Crew event specifically eliminates a Captain’s normal / regular crew. The purpose of this competition category is to encourage an experienced Captain to take a lesser experienced crew member fishing and help him/her to learn to fish and catch Snapper.

Max Coningsby and Pot of Gold are Snapper and mixed bags competitions.
